Wuzup

Privacy Policy

Effective October 7, 2026

Wuzup is operated by Joshua Morgan ("we", "us"). Wuzup covers the United States.

The short version

1. Information that stays on your device

Wuzup stores the following in the app's private storage on your phone. It is not sent to us:

You can change or remove this information at any time. See Your choices.

2. Location

Wuzup asks for your location only when you tap Use my location, and only while you are using the app. It never asks for background location. If you say no, you can type a city or community instead, and the app still works.

If you type a place

The app matches what you type against a list of U.S. places that is built into the app, on your phone. The text you type is not sent anywhere.

If you allow location

Your phone gives the app a location fix. The app compares it, on your phone, with the same built-in list of U.S. places and suggests the nearest area. You confirm the area. Your latitude and longitude are used only on your phone. They are not sent to the Wuzup delivery service or to any other service, and they are not saved. While the app is open, the fix may be kept in the app's memory, for example to show distances. It is gone when the app closes.

What the app does send after you pick an area

After you pick or confirm an area, the app asks our delivery service for that area's listings. The request names the area by its ID (a code for the town or neighborhood, not a street address) and nothing else about you. The app also asks Open-Meteo for the weather at the central point of that area. That point is the center of the area, not your exact location, but if you chose the area by allowing location, it is close to where you are. Both requests carry your IP address, because every internet request does.

3. How listings reach your phone, and our hosting provider

Wuzup builds the listings for each area ahead of time from public sources, and refreshes them about once a day. The same prebuilt listings go to everyone who picks that area. Nothing in them is personal to you. The app downloads them over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection from delivery.wuzup.app, and checks that they are genuine before showing them.

The Wuzup delivery service runs on Cloudflare (Cloudflare Workers, with files stored in Cloudflare R2). We have set it up so that the service itself does not log requests: the Wuzup software writes no request logs, and Cloudflare Workers Logs, observability and log export are turned off for it. The app sends no cookies, no account, no advertising ID and no device ID.

Cloudflare is the infrastructure provider. As it operates its network, Cloudflare itself may process IP addresses and request details, such as the time and the address requested, for security and network operation under its own privacy policy: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy. We do not receive those details from Cloudflare, and we do not use IP addresses to identify you or to build profiles. This website (wuzup.app) is also served by Cloudflare.

4. Who else receives information

WhoWhyWhat they receive
Cloudflare (delivery.wuzup.app)Delivering prebuilt listingsThe ID of the area you picked, in the address of the request, plus your IP address and ordinary request details. See section 3. No coordinates.
Open-MeteoWeather forecastsThe central point of your selected area (not your device location) and its time zone, plus your IP address. Requested directly by the app.
Wikimedia (upload.wikimedia.org)Photos on some listingsRequests for specific photos, plus your IP address, only when a listing you view has a photo hosted there. The app tells your phone not to send the page address with these requests.

Links you open. When you tap a link to an event's website, a map, or a source, that site receives your visit under its own privacy policy. Map links contain the place's location, not yours.

Apple. Apple handles App Store downloads and, for test builds, TestFlight crash reports and feedback, under Apple's privacy policy. Wuzup does not add its own crash reporting.

We do not sell personal information, share it for advertising, or give it to data brokers.

5. Sharing a plan

When you share a day plan, the app opens your phone's share sheet with a short text summary, and a calendar file when the plan has dated events. They contain the titles, times and venues of the items in the plan, including events you added yourself. They go only to the people or apps you choose. We do not receive them.

6. What Wuzup does not do

7. How long we keep information

8. Your choices

We don't keep an account or profile for you on our servers, so in most cases there is nothing linked to you for us to look up or delete. If you have a question or a request about your information, contact us (section 12). Depending on where you live, you may have legal rights to access or delete personal information. We will respond as required by law.

9. Children

Wuzup is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

The app connects to the Wuzup delivery service only over HTTPS and sends no cookies or login details. Information on your phone is protected by iOS's app sandbox. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep what we collect small.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change how Wuzup handles information, we will update this page and its effective date. If a change matters, for example if we start sending location off your phone or add a new service that receives your information, we will also say so in the app before it takes effect.
