Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account?

No. Wuzup has no sign-in. Your saves, plans, added events and settings are stored on your phone, not on our servers.

Do I have to share my location?

No. On the first screen you can tap Use my location, or type a city or community (for example "Oakland, CA"). The app works either way. If you allowed location and changed your mind, turn it off in Settings › Use current location, or in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Location Services › Wuzup.

Our Privacy Policy explains what happens to your location if you share it. In short, your coordinates stay on your phone.

Where does Wuzup work?

Wuzup covers places in the United States only. Type a city or community, or allow location, to pick your area. Listings are prepared for each area and refreshed about once a day.

If Wuzup doesn't recognize a place, it tells you, for example: "Wuzup doesn't have a locality match for that place yet." Try a nearby city or community, or add the state.

Why do I see only a few events, or none?

Wuzup collects listings from public sources such as venue, library and college calendars. Sometimes a source is down or hasn't been checked yet. Wuzup doesn't hide that, and it doesn't treat a missing source as "nothing is happening". You may see notices like these:

Some event sources are unavailable or still unchecked. These verified listings are only part of what may be happening nearby.
Event listings are unavailable for this view. Some sources are unavailable or still unchecked; this does not mean there are no events nearby.

Coverage also varies by area. Some places have many public calendars and some have very few.

Why does it say listings are too old or couldn't be verified?

Wuzup won't show listings as current once they are past their freshness limit. Instead you'll see a notice such as "Event listings were last refreshed [date] and are too old to show." or "Events couldn't be verified right now." If the notice has a button such as "Check again", tap it to try again, and check your connection.

To see how fresh your listings are, open Settings › Listing data. It shows how many events came from how many sources, when the listings were generated, and whether some sources were unavailable.

A listing is wrong. How do I report it?

Open the event or place and tap Suggest a correction. Choose what's wrong and add details if you like. This saves a correction receipt on your phone. It is not sent to us automatically.

To tell us, email support@wuzup.app with the listing name, the date, and what's wrong.

Each listing links to its original source, and organizers fix details there first, so checking the source is often the fastest way to confirm a change.

How do I reset or delete my data?
Where does the weather come from?

Forecasts come from Open-Meteo for the center of the area you picked, not your exact location.

Does Wuzup have ads or track me?

No. There are no ads, no analytics, and no tracking. See the Privacy Policy.
